Do you offer sedation?
Our goal at Pruce Dental is to do everything possible to ensure that you have a comfortable experience with us.
If you are fearful, you shouldn’t feel like you are alone or like there’s something wrong with you. Dental anxiety is widespread, and it’s estimated that 30 to 40 million Americans are anxious about dental visits.
We offer two types of sedation – nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and IV conscious sedation.
Nitrous oxide is a gentle form of sedation and great for mild to moderate anxiety. The gas is administered through a small nasal mask so all you have to do is sit back and breathe normally. Pretty soon you will feel calm and relaxed, and the activity around you will fade into the background. Many of our patients prefer nitrous oxide because it has no lingering after-effects, and you can return to your normal daily routine as soon as you leave our office.
We also offer IV conscious sedation if you are having a surgical procedure or long restorative appointment. IV conscious sedation can eliminate much of the fear and nervousness associated with dental treatment, and many people have little or no memory of the experience afterward. Dr. Pruce works with a highly trained and licensed anesthesiologist to safely perform procedures under sedation at our Washington, PA dental office.
Sedation is available after an initial consultation, review of your medical history, and discussion about your treatment requirements.
Please don’t put off dental treatment because of anxiety. In addition to sedation, we provide you with gentle, compassionate support that will make fear about dental visits a thing of the past.
